IFSW Europe: Announcement about new Honorary Secretary‏

Dear Colleagues

Following Siobhan Maclean’s announcement of her intention to stand down, the position of IFSW Europe Honorary Secretary was advertised with a closing date of 30 November 2012.

Four applications for the post were received and following careful consideration of the candidates CV’s and SKYPE interviews conducted by myself and Ian Johnston, Member of the Executive Committee, I’m delighted to be able to advise members that Ana Martín Muñoz has been formally appointed to take over this important position after the Delegates Meeting in Istanbul in April 2013 when Siobhan will leave us.

Ana will commence her new duties in January 2013 to enable her to participate in a meeting of the IFSW Europe Executive Committee in Madrid at the beginning of February and work jointly with Siobhan to ensure a smooth transition.

Ana lives and works in the city of Granada in Spain. She is a qualified social worker and solicitor experienced in mediation and conflict resolution at micro and macro social levels. She also serves on the Advisory Board of the General Council of Social Work in Spain.

I would take this opportunity of placing on record our appreciation of the valuable contribution that Siobhan Maclean has made to the organisation and administration of IFSW Europe’s affairs for the past 5 years. We wish Siobhan every success in her future career.

Best wishes to all colleagues for 2013.

Cristina Martins
Regional President, IFSW Europe
