I am very glad to announce to all of you that the first celebration of World Social Work Day at the United Nations in Geneva will take place the 26 March 2012.
This will be the occasion for IFSW, IASSW and ICSW to launch the "Global Agenda for Social Work and Social Development". The Global Agenda was developed after extensive international discussions and consultation with social workers, educators and social development practitioners. The Agenda sets out the joint commitments of social professionals and their organisations for action and support of the United Nations and other international agencies.
I hope to meet some of you in Geneva for WSWD 26th March.
