APSS is inviting all Social Workers to bring a white flower on WSWD as a symbol to promote our values during the Day:
-FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE
-FOR SOCIAL WORK
-FOR THE NEW REGULATION ON PROFESSIONAL ORGANISATION OF SOCIAL WORKERS IN PORTUGAL

Activities on the Day:


APSS Centre Delegation: Dinner and Social Event
Dinner at Restaurant Praça do Marisco at 8:00pm in Combra, followed by a performance of a Fado group from Coimbra.

APSS North Delegation:Tertúlia (literary assembly) about the Regulation on Professional Organisation of Social Workers in Portugal and Dinner at School EB1 Elvira Valente at 7:00pm in Porto.


APSS Algarve Delegation: Dinner and Special Meeting about the Regulation on Professional Organisation of Social Workers in Portugal at Restaurant A Horta at 8:00pm in the city of Olhão.

APSS Azores Delegation: Conference on the theme "Social Work and Social Development” at the Azores University in the city of Ponta Delgada, São Miguel.

The main aim of these dinners is to promote a general fraternization between Social Workers and to get funds for APSS to finance a study which is required for the working process to achieve the new Regulation on Professional Organisation of Social Workers in Portugal.

Other Organizations Activities:

The Social Workers from the Portuguese Institute of Oncology of Lisbon organized a Workshop with the theme: “What is it to be a Social Worker after all?” at the auditorium of the Hospital on March 17 (2:30-4:30pm) to celebrate WSWD.
Invited speakers: Dr.ª Isabel Passarinho and Dr.ª Paula Roncon.

Free Entrance

The Centre of Hospitals from North Lisbon (CHLN – Hospital Santa Maria and Hospital Pulido Valente) organized a Poster exhibition about Social Workers activities.


They will offer leaflets with general information about the role of Social Workers, social benefits, rights and duties (with a white flower) to all visitors.
